রাজনীতির নামে সন্ত্রাসের বিরুদ্ধে সাংবাদিকদের মানববন্ধনে তথ্যমন্ত্রী।
বিশেষ প্রতিনিধি : রোববার দুপুরে রাজধানীর তোপখানা রোডে জাতীয় প্রেসক্লাবের সামনে রাজনীতির নামে সন্ত্রাসের বিরুদ্ধে সাংবাদিকদের মানববন্ধনে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে যোগ দেন তথ্য ও সম্প্রচারমন্ত্রী এবং আওয়ামী লীগের যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক ড. হাছান মাহমুদ।
‘মিডিয়া ফর ডিভালপমেন্ট এন্ড পিস’ সংগঠনের ব্যানারে ‘রাজনীতির নামে জ্বালাও-পোড়াও নাশকতা বন্ধ করো, নির্বাচনই সরকার পরিবর্তনের একমাত্র পথ’ শীর্ষক এ মানববন্ধনে জাতীয় প্রেসক্লাব সভাপতি ফরিদা ইয়াসমিনের নেতৃত্বে বাংলাদেশ সংবাদ সংস্থার ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক আবুল কালাম আজাদ, সাংবাদিক কল্যাণ ট্রাস্টের ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক সুভাষ চন্দ বাদল, ঢাকা সাংবাদিক ইউনিয়নের যুগ্ম সম্পাদক খায়রুল আলম প্রমুখ অংশ নেন।
তথ্যমন্ত্রী সাংবাদিকদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন, ‘আপনাদের ধন্যবাদ জানাই যে আপনারা আগুনসন্ত্রাসের বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলছেন, রাস্তায় নেমেছেন। বিএনপি-জামায়াত হরতাল, অবরোধ, সমাবেশের নামে একজন পুলিশ সদস্যকে যেভাবে কুপিয়ে হত্যা করেছে, ড্রাইভার-হেলপারকে পুড়িয়ে হত্যা করেছে, সাংবাদিকদেরকে পিটিয়েছে, যানবাহন জ্বালিয়ে দিয়েছে, পুলিশ হাসপাতালে হামলা চালিয়ে এম্বুলেন্সসহ ১৯টি গাড়ি জ্বালিয়ে দিয়েছে, সেগুলো কোনো মুভির নৃশংসতম দৃশ্যপটকেও হার মানিয়েছে। এগুলো রাজনীতি তো নয়ই, অপরাজনীতি বললেও ভুল হবে। রাজনীতির নামে পৃথিবীর কোথাও এ ধরণের নৃশংসতা হয়নি, যেটি বিএনপি-জামায়াত করছে। এরা দেশের শত্রু, সমাজের শত্রু, রাষ্ট্রের শত্রু। আমাদের সবাইকে এদের প্রতিহত করতে হবে।’
হাছান মাহমুদ বলেন, ‘দেশকে নিয়ে অনেক ষড়যন্ত্র হয়েছে, আজকেও হচ্ছে এবং এই ষড়যন্ত্রের সাথে দেশি-বিদেশি চক্র যুক্ত আছে। কিন্তু সমস্ত ষড়যন্ত্রকে উপড়ে ফেলে প্রধানমন্ত্রী জননেত্রী শেখ হাসিনা দেশকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাচ্ছেন। নির্বাচনকে সামনে রেখে সমস্ত ষড়যন্ত্রকে উপড়ে ফেলে আজকে দেশে নির্বাচনী পরিবেশ তৈরি হয়েছে, উৎসাহ-উদ্দীপনা তৈরি হয়েছে, জনগণের ব্যাপক অংশগ্রহণে দেশে একটি সুন্দর নির্বাচন আমরা উপহার দিতে পারবো।’
সম্প্রচারমন্ত্রী বলেন, ‘সাংবাদিক ভাই-বোনদের অনুরোধ জানাবো আপনারা জনগণের পাশে আগেও ছিলেন, এখনো আছেন, আজকে যেভাবে মুখ খুলেছেন, ভবিষ্যতেও এমনই থাকবেন। আর যারা জনগণ ও গাড়ি-ঘোড়ার ওপর হামলা চালায়, পেট্রোলবোমা নিক্ষেপ করে, তাদেরকে খুঁজে বের করে সমূলে উৎপাটন না করা পর্যন্ত আমরা রাজপথ ছাড়বো না।
